What is Microsoft Teams? Microsoft Teams is the app Legacy College of Compostela uses for online classes, meetings, and group discussions. It is included in your LCC Microsoft 365 account — the same @legacycollege.edu.ph email and password you use for the Microsoft Portal, so there is nothing extra to buy or register for.

Inside Teams you can join video classes, chat with your classmates and teachers, share files, and see meeting schedules in one place. The three short videos below walk you through it — each under two minutes: how to install Teams on your phone, how to start a meeting of your own instantly, and how to join a meeting or online class.

1. Download & Install Microsoft Teams on Android

Start here if you don't have Teams on your phone yet. This video shows where to find the official Microsoft Teams app in the Google Play Store, how to install it, and how to sign in for the first time. Use your LCC Microsoft 365 account when it asks for an email and password. (iPhone users can follow the same steps using the App Store.)

  • Open the Play Store and search for “Microsoft Teams”.
  • Install the app published by Microsoft Corporation.
  • Sign in with your LCC Microsoft 365 email and password.

2. Start Your Own Meeting Instantly

Need to meet right now — a group study session, a quick consultation, or a make-up class? You don't have to schedule anything on the calendar. The Meet now button starts a meeting on the spot, then gives you a link you can copy and send to whoever should join. This clip shows the whole thing in about a minute.

  • Tap Meet now — from a chat, a channel, or the Teams menu.
  • Name the meeting, then choose Get a link to share.
  • Send the link, or invite people straight from the participant list.

3. Joining a Teams Meeting or Online Class

Once Teams is installed, this short guide from Microsoft — under two minutes — shows the part you'll use every day: opening a meeting link or calendar invite, choosing your camera and microphone settings on the join screen, and entering the meeting. Watch it before your first online class so nothing catches you off guard.

  • Open the meeting link, or tap the meeting in your Teams calendar.
  • Set your camera and microphone on the join screen, then tap Join now.
  • Inside the meeting, use chat, raise hand, and screen sharing as needed.

Tip: join a few minutes early so you have time to fix any audio or video issues.

Can't sign in to Teams? Make sure you can log in to the Microsoft Portal first — Teams uses the same account.
