TVL SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
The SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) specialization under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track equips Senior High School students with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed to perform welding work safely and effectively. The program provides intensive hands-on training in metal fabrication, welding techniques, and structural assembly, preparing learners to build and repair metal components used in construction, manufacturing, and mechanical industries. Students will learn blueprint reading, proper joint preparation, electrode selection, and welding position mastery while emphasizing workplace safety, quality assurance, and equipment maintenance. The course also instills values of discipline, accuracy, and teamwork, fostering the work ethics essential to professional welders. Upon completion, learners are expected to qualify for the TESDA SMAW NC I or NC II national certification, enabling them to pursue entry-level employment in welding, fabrication, and related fields locally or abroad, or to continue advanced training in other industrial technology programs.
