Caregiving
The Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) – Care (Caregiving) strand is designed to equip senior high school students with the essential knowledge, skills, and values needed to provide quality care for individuals across the lifespan — from infants and toddlers to the elderly and persons with special needs. This program integrates health care fundamentals, safety practices, and communication skills to prepare students for real-world caregiving situations at home, in the community, and in institutional settings. Learners are trained in basic nursing procedures, first aid, hygiene, nutrition, and emotional support, guided by compassion, professionalism, and respect for human dignity. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training, students gain competencies aligned with TESDA’s Caregiving NC II qualification standards, enabling them to pursue employment locally or abroad as caregivers, health care assistants, or home-based support workers. By the end of the course, students are expected to demonstrate: Proper caregiving techniques for various age groups Effective communication with patients, families, and health professionals Understanding of ethical and cultural considerations in caregiving Readiness for TESDA certification and further studies in health-related fields
